AN ACT SEPARATING THE MARIANO PERALTA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - DATU DANWATA EXTENSION IN BARANGAY DATU DANWATA, MUNICIPALITY OF MALITA, PROVINCE OF DAVAO OCCIDENTAL FROM THE MARIANO PERALTA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, CONVERTING IT INTO AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE GASPAR DANWATA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Mariano Peralta National High School - Datu Danwata Extension in Barangay Datu Danwata, Municipality of Malita, Province of Davao Occidental is hereby separated from the Mariano Peralta National High School and converted it into an independent national high school to be known as the Gaspar Danwata National High School.

Section 2. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Mariano Peralta National High School - Datu Danwata Extension are hereby transferred and absorbed by the Gaspar Danwata National High School.

Section 3. The Secretary of Education shall immediately include in the Department's program the operationalization of the Gaspar Danwata National High School, the initial funding of which shall be charged against the current year's appropriation of the Mariano Peralta  National High School - Datu Danwata Extension. Thereafter, the amount necessary for the continued operation of the school shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.£A⩊phi£

Section 4. Within ninety (90) days from the approval of this Act, the Secretary of Education shall formulate the rules and regulations implementing the provisions of this Act. Such implementing rules and regulations shall provide for the school's organization, administration, operations and management, in accordance with Republic act No. 9155, or the "Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001," Republic Act No. 10533, or the "Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013," and other basic education-related laws.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on January 23, 2023 and March 20, 2023, respectively.
