[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11890, June 29, 2022 ]

AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE TERESITA LOPEZ JALANDONI PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN THE CITY OF SILAY, PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL FROM ONE HUNDRED (100) TO THREE HUNDRED (300) BEDS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The authorized bed capacity of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital located in the City of Silay, Province of Negros Occidental, is hereby increased from one hundred (100) to three hundred (300) beds. Any future increase in bed capacity shall be consistent with the hospital development plan that shall be prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, and submitted to the Department of Health (DOH).

Section 2. The existing professional health care services and facilities of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided for in Section 1 hereof.

Section 3. The existing workforce of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, which includes doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly.

Section 4. The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental shall provide the necessary funds to cover the maintenance and other operating expenses of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital. It shall also appropriate funds for the additional human resource complement to support the increase in bed capacity and the corresponding upgrading of its facilities and professional health care services.

Section 5. The Secretary of the DOH shall include in the Department’s subsidy program, support for the capital outlay requirements of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital.

Section 6. All laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

Section 7. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
