[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11812, June 02, 2022 ]

AN ACT RENAMING THE MUNICIPALITY OF RODRIGUEZ IN THE PROVINCE OF RIZAL AS THE MUNICIPALITY OF MONTALBAN, REPEALING FOR THE PURPOSE BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 275

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Municipality of Rodriguez in the Province of Rizal is hereby renamed as the Municipality of Montalban.

Section 2. The renaming of the Municipality of Rodriguez as Municipality of Montalban shall be effective upon ratification of the majority of votes cast by qualified voters in a plebiscite to be conducted and supervised by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in the present Municipality of Rodriguez.

The expenses for such plebiscite shall be borne by the Municipality of Rodriguez, Province of Rizal.ℒαwρhi৷

Section 3. This Act repeals Batas Pambansa Blg. 275, entitled "An Act Changing the Name of the Municipality of Montalban, Province of Rizal, to the Municipality of Rodriguez".

Section 4.This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was passed by the House of Representatives on March 17, 2021, amended by  the Senate of the Philippines  January 31, 2022, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on February 2, 2022.
