[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6370, August 16, 1971 ]

AN ACT CREATING THE POSITIONS OF TWELVE ASSISTANT CITY FISCALS, ADJUSTING THE SALARIES OF THE SEVENTH ASSISTANT CITY FISCALS OF QUEZON CITY, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTIONS TWENTY-EIGHT AND TWENTY-NINE OF THE REVISED CHARTER OF SAID CITY, AS AMENDED BY REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIFTY-TWO HUNDRED NINETY-TWO.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1.  The first paragraph of Section twenty-eight of Republic Act Numbered Five hundred thirty-seven, otherwise known as the "Revised Charter of Quezon City", as amended by Republic Act Numbered Five thousand two hundred ninety-two, is further amended to read as follows:

"Section 28. The City Fiscal, his assistants, his duties.— There shall be a city fiscal who shall be the chief of the law department of the city, a first assistant city fiscal who shall be the assistant chief, a second assistant city fiscal, two third assistant city fiscals, five fourth assistant city fiscals, five fifth assistant city fiscals, seven sixth assistant city fiscals, six seventh assistant city fiscals, and twelve eighth assistant city fiscals, who shall discharge their duties under the general supervision of the Secretary of Justice.  The city fiscal who shall have a rank and the privileges of a judge of a Court of First Instance, shall be the chief legal adviser of the city and all offices and departments thereof and shall have the following general powers and duties:"

Section 2. Paragraph (A) of Section twenty-nine of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:

"(h)" Six seventh assistant city fiscals, at nine hundred pesos lese than that provided for the sixth assistant city fiscals in the next preceding paragraph."

Section 3. Section twenty-nine of the same Act, as amended is further amended by adding after paragraph (h) thereof a new paragraph to be known as paragraph (i) which shall read as follows:

"(i)" Twelve eighth assistant city fiscals, at nine hundred pesos less than that provided for the seventh assistant city fiscals in the next preceding paragraph."1âшphi1

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
