[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6344, June 19, 1971 ]

AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAMBAJAO, PROVINCE OF CAMIGUIN, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. There is hereby established under the direct supervision of the Director of Vocational Education, a school of arts and trades in the Municipality of Mambajao, Province of Camiguin: Provided, however, That only a general education curriculum with practical arts shall be offered in the first and second years, and the vocational education curriculum shall be offered in the third and fourth years: Provided, further, That the school shall offer short vocational courses for training in vocations needed in the locality which shall be open to elementary school graduates: Provided, finally, That the school shall open, as soon as feasible, two-year post secondary technical courses.  The Director of Vocational Education shall promulgate, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Education, such rules and regulations to carry out the purposes of this Act. Said Director shall also acquire the necessary site for the said school.

Section 2. The sum of three hundred thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of the said school for the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy-one.  Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.1âшphi1

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
