REPUBLIC ACT No. 1785

An Act to Establish a School of Fisheries in the Province of Capiz and to Authorize the Appropriation of Necessary Funds Therefor

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. There shall be established under the direct supervision of the Director of Fisheries, a school of fisheries in the Province of Capiz to be known as the Capiz School of Fisheries.

Section 2. The Director of Fisheries shall be ex officio dean of the Capiz School of Fisheries, serving in such capacity without additional compensation. Subject to the approval of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Director of Fisheries is authorized to detail to said school such officers and employees of the Bureau of Fisheries as may be necessary and to employ experts in fishing for the purpose of giving instruction to the students therein.

Section 3. The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources shall promulgate such rules and regulations not inconsistent with law as may be necessary to carry into effect the purposes of this Act.

Section 4. The sum of one hundred and fifty thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary is hereby authorized and appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of said school for the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred fifty-eight, and for its operation and maintenance in subsequent years, the Congress of the Philippines shall include the necessary amount in the General Appropriation Act.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
