[ Proclamation No. 900, November 4, 2014 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, 4 NOVEMBER 2014, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF SAN CARLOS, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

WHEREAS, Tuesday, 4 November 2014, marks the annual festival of the City of San Carlos, during which activities are held in thanksgiving for the many blessings the City has received;

WHEREAS, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines has recommended the declaration of 4 November 2014 as a special day for the City, citing it as the date the City was re-named to San Carlos, from its former name “Nabinkalan,” by its then politico-military governor Don Emilio Nuñez Saravia;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of San Carlos, Negros Occidental be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Tuesday, 4 November 2014, as a special (non-working) day in the City of San Carlos, Negros Occidental.
