DECLARING THE LAST FULL WEEK OF JANUARY OF EVERY YEAR AS WATER DISTRICT WEEK
WHEREAS, the water districts have become the primary supplier of water in the urban and rural centers outside Metro Manila, providing water to more than 13 million Filipino all over the archipelago;
WHEREAS, water districts have become indispensable partners of the government in nation building by providing safe, adequate and affordable water to industries and communities, where and when this is needed;
WHEREAS, water districts have continually improved their water systems and developed their technical expertise to meet the ever-growing demands of a fast growing population;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALBERTO G. ROMULO, Executive Secretary, by order of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the last full week of January of every year as Water District Week in recognition of the important contributions of the water districts to the growth and development of our nation.
