DECLARING SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 2002, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAY IN THE CITY OF MAASIN

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8796 provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Maasin, Southern Leyte into a component city to be known as the City of Maasin;

WHEREAS, Saturday, August 10, 2002, marks the 2nd Charter Day anniversary of the City of Maasin;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of the City of Maasin be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their citys history with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Saturday, August 10, 2002, as a special non-working day in the City of Maasin.1aшphi1
