DECLARING NOVEMBER 4 to 10, 2002 AS NATIONAL DANCESPORT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc. is hosting the 2002 Asia Pacific Dancesport Championship on November 8 to 10, 2002;

WHEREAS, world-class dancers and judges from more than twenty countries from all over the world will join the 2002 Asia Pacific Dancesport Championship;

WHEREAS, holding the 2002 Asia Pacific Dancesport Championship in the Philippines will allow our countrymen to demonstrate the innate talent for dancing of Filipinos and will improve the image of our country as a tourist destination.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare November 4 to 10, 2002 as National Dancesport Week. To ensure the success of this worthy undertaking, the Department of Tourism, Philippine Sports Commission and other government agencies are encouraged to support and actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the said event.1aшphi1
