[ Proclamation No. 189, April 25, 2002 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, APRIL 25, 2002, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAY IN THE CITY OF ISABELA, PROVINCE OF BASILAN

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9023 converting the Municipality of Isabela into a component city of the Province of Basilan, was signed into law on April 25, 2001;

WHEREAS, Thursday, April 25, 2002, marks the 1st Charter Day anniversary of the City of Isabela;

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the people of the City of Isabela be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their citys history with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Thursday, April 25, 2002, as a special non-working day in the City of Isabela, Province of Basilan.
