DECLARING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2002, AS A SPECIAL NON WORKING DAY IN THE CITY OF ESCALANTE, PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9014 converting the Municipality of Escalante into a component city of Negros Occidental was signed into law on February 28, 2001;

WHEREAS, Thursday, February 28, 2002, marks the 1st Charter Day anniversary of the City of Escalante;

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the people of the City of Escalante be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their citys history with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book 1, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Thursday, February 28, 2002, as a special non-working day in the City of Escalante, Province of Negros Occidental.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
