DECLARING FEBRUARY 25, 2002, MONDAY AS A SPECIAL NATIONAL HOLIDAY

WHEREAS, the EDSA People Power Revolution restored our democratic institutions and ushered in meaningful political, social and economic reforms in the country;

WHEREAS, it is fitting that the people of the Philippines be given full opportunity to honor the memory of the EDSA People Power Revolution with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me Book 1, Chapter 7, Section 27 of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Monday, February 25, 2002, as special national holiday.
