DECLARING JANUARY 16, 2002 A SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS, INCLUDING THE CITIES OF LIPA AND BATANGAS, IN OBSERVANCE OF THE FOUNDATION DAY OF THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 1703 dated January 12, 1978 (Proclamation No. 1703) declared January 16 as the Foundation Day of the Province of Batangas;

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 1703 further declared January 16 of 1978, and every year thereafter, a special public holiday in the Province of Batangas;

WHEREAS, the Foundation Day of the Province of Batangas shall hereinafter be observed by declaring January 16, 2002 a special working holiday in the Province of Batangas, including the cities of Lipa and Batangas;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare January 16, 2002 a special working holiday in the Province of Batangas, including the cities of Lipa and Batangas, in observance of the Foundation Day of the Province of Batangas.
