DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 2001, AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING DAY IN THE CITY OF MAASIN

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8796 provides for the conversion of the Municipality of Maasin, Southern Leyte into a component city to be known as the City of Maasin;

WHEREAS, the City of Maasin will be celebrating its First Anniversary of being a City on Friday, August 10, 2001;

WHEREAS, in order for the people of this city to actively participate and give meaning to the celebration, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Maasin has requested that the aforesaid date be declared as a special non-working holiday for the City of Maasin;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, August 10, 2001, as a special non-working day in the City of Maasin.1aшphi1
