[ Proclamation No. 22, March 28, 2001 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, MARCH 30, 2001, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CAUAYAN, ISABELA, AND IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEYCAUAYAN, BULACAN.

WHEREAS, Republic Act Nos. 9017 and 9021 dated February 28, 2001 and March 5, 2001, respectively, provides for the conversion of the Municipalities of the Cauayan and Meycauayan into component cities to be known as the Cities of Cauayan and Meycauayan and mandates the holding of a plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections, in its Resolution No. 3777 dated March 21, 2001, has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipalities on Friday, March 30, 2001;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipalities to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special day.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, March 30, 2001, as a special day in the Municipality of Cauayan, Isabela and in the Municipality of Meycauayan, Bulacan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
