DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 26 TO DECEMBER 1, 2001 AS “CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK”

WHEREAS, the government recognizes the important role of civil engineers in nation-building;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus public attention on the importance of the Civil Engineering profession and highlight its role in nation-building;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc., will hold its national convention on November 29 to December 1, 2001 at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 26 to December 1, 2001, as “Civil Engineering Week” under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc.1aшphi1

I call upon all civil engineers and students to give the observance of the week their full support.
