DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 8 TO 14, 2001, AS “HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT WEEK”

WHEREAS, there is a need to increase national attention on the significance of Human Resource Management (HRM) in attaining the highest potential of Filipinos as managers, as workers, and as empowered and technology-proficient citizens of a new century of economic growth and social progress;

WHEREAS, the HRM professionals commitment and efforts to the development and promotion of the human resources of the country should be recognized and further encouraged;

WHEREAS, the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) will hold its 38th National Conference on October 10 to 13, 2001, at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City with the theme “BREAKTHROUGH @ CONVERGENCE”, with focus on the four major converging issues that impact on the HRM profession: People, Technology, Knowledge, and Business Challenges;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 8 to 14, 2001, as “Human Resource Management Week” under the auspices of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines.1aшphi1
