[ Proclamation No. 403, October 20, 2000 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CANCER SOCIETY, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR

WHEREAS, the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., was authorized under Proclamation No. 188 dated October 1, 1999, to conduct a national fund campaign for the period from October 1, 1999 to October 1, 2000;

WHEREAS, the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., is currently implementing a massive information and education campaign aimed at making our people more cancer conscious, so that, alerted in time concerning the symptoms of this dreaded disease, those afflicted may seek immediate treatment;

WHEREAS, in order to effectively carry out its noble objectives, the society needs the financial and moral support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., to conduct a national educational, membership and fund campaign for a period of one (1) year effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.1aшphi1
