DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 6 TO 12, 2000 AS “SKIN DISEASE DETECTION AND PREVENTION WEEK”

WHEREAS, the skin is the largest organ system of the body and its diseases and care need to be adequately addressed;

WHEREAS, there is a need to uplift the health status of the Filipinos through early detection and prevention of skin diseases;

WHEREAS, physicians need to continuously update their knowledge pertaining to the skin and its diseases through research and continuing medical education;

WHEREAS, the celebration of “SKIN DISEASE DETECTION AND PREVENTION WEEK” will educate the public on the importance of self-examination, adequate skin care, early consultation with dermatologists for proper management of skin diseases;

WHEREAS, the successful observance of the event will require the support of the government and the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 6 to 12, 2000 as “SKIN DISEASE DETECTION AND PREVENTION WEEK” under the auspices of the Philippine Dermatological Society.1aшphi1
