DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 23 TO 28, 2000 AS PURCHASING AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Purchasing and Materials Management Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PMMAP) is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the countrys top corporations;

WHEREAS, the PMMAP will celebrate, this October, its 32nd anniversary with the theme: “PMMAP IN SUBIC: RIDING THE WAVES OF CHANGE”;

WHEREAS, in line with the goals of Philippines 2000, purchasing and materials managers and PMMAP must help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 23 to 28, 2000 as Purchasing and Materials Management Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
