DECLARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2000, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DIGOS, DAVAO DEL SUR

WHEREAS, the conversion of the Municipality of Digos, Davao del Sur into a component city to be known as the City of Digos mandates the holding of plebiscite for the ratification thereof;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections has scheduled the plebiscite day for the ratification of the conversion of the said municipality on Friday, September 8, 2000;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipality to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day as a special day.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, September 8, 2000, as a special day in the Municipality of Digos, Davao del Sur.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
