[ Proclamation No. 338, July 7, 2000 ]

DECLARING THE 7TH DAY OF JULY 2000 AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS “ARAW NG PAMBANSANG KASAGANAAN”

WHEREAS, the 7th day of July marks the founding anniversary of Kataastaasan Kagalanggalangan Katipunan (KKK), whose primary aim was to achieve independence;

WHEREAS, the Government, in commemorating the founding anniversary of KKK, will launch pro-poor programs and projects aim towards eradicating poverty, with the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) as the lead agency;

WHEREAS, in the forthcoming 108th funding anniversary of KKK, the government will launch the National Anti-Poverty Action Agenda (NAAA), formulated with multi-stakeholder participation by the NAPC, in partnership with various government agencies;

WHEREAS, there is a pressing need to keep alive the spirit of unity exemplified by our forefathers, no longer for independence, but to fight poverty besetting our nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the 7th day of July 7, 2000 and every year thereafter as “Araw ng Pambansang Kasaganaan”.

I call upon the public and private sectors to give the observance of the day their full support.1aшphi1
