[ Proclamation No. 262, April 7, 2000 ]

DECLARING SATURDAY, APRIL 15, 2000 AS A SPECIAL DAY IN PASAY CITY; MERCEDES, CAMARINES NORTE; JIMALALUD, NEGROS ORIENTAL; AND GENERAL TINIO, NUEVA ECIJA

WHEREAS, Saturday, April 15, 2000, is the scheduled date for the holding of recall elections in certain localities of the country;

WHEREAS, there is a need to declare Saturday, April 15, 2000, as a special day to give the electorate of these localities full opportunity to participate in the said elections;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Saturday, April 15, 2000, as a special day in Pasay City; Mercedes, Camarines Norte; Jimalalud, Negros Oriental; and General Tinio, Nueva Ecija on the occasion of the recall elections.1aшphi1

The various local government units, through their respective chief local executives, shall extend all possible assistance and support to ensure the smooth conduct of the said elections.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
