DECLARING THE 36.5498 HECTARE LAND OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF BUTUAN, LOCATED AT BARANGAYS AMPAYON AND TINIWISAN, BUTUAN CITY, AS GOV. DEMOCRITO O. PLAZA REGIONAL GOVERNMENT CENTER FOR THE CARAGA REGION
WHEREAS, in fulfillment of its mandated duty under the Local Government Code, the City of Butuan, being the Regional Administrative Center of CARAGA Region XIII, has acquired a 36.5498 hectare land situated at Barangays Ampayon and Tiniwisan, Butuan City, for the purpose of establishing a Regional Government Center for the CARAGA Region;
WHEREAS, considering its location, area and environs, this 36.5498 hectare lot of the City of Butuan is an ideal site that can more than accommodate the building site requirements of all regional offices of the national government agencies in the CARAGA Region;
WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Butuan City, under SP Ordinance No. 2157-98 has named the site after the late Gov. Democrito O. Plaza, former Governor of the original Agusan Province;
WHEREAS, to operationalize the CARAGA Regional Government Center on a ONE-STOP-SHOP BASIS, the City Government of Butuan has offered to donate freely a 1,000 square meter lot to each agency of the National Government to enable it to construct its office building and other infrastructure needs therein;
WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Butuan City in its Resolution No. 587-98 has requested that the said 36.5498 hectare land be declared as a Regional Government Center for CARAGA Region, more particularly described as follows:
A PARCEL OF LAND, Lot 2, Pcs-10-000668, Lot 3-B, Lot 3-C, PCS-13-000794 & Lot 20-B (LRC) Psd-49119, situated in Barangay Ampayon/Tiniwisan, City of Butuan, Province of Agusan del Norte, Island of Mindanao. Bounded on the NE., along line 1-2 by Lot 3-A, Psd-10-000794; on the SE., along lines 2-6 by the proposed road; on the SW., along line 6-7 by Lot 19-B-1, (LRC) Psd-258708; on the N., along lines 7-9 by Lot 20-A, (LRC) Psd-49119; lines 9-11 by Lot 1, Pcs-10-000668; on the NE., along lines 11-13 by the proposed road; on the SE., along lines 13-14-1 by Lot 3-A, Psd-10000794. All of Cad 84.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby DECLARE the 35.5498 hectare land of the City Government of Butuan located at Barangays Ampayon and Tiniwisan, Butuan City, as GOV. DEMOCRITO O. PLAZA REGIONAL GOVERNMENT CENTER for CARAGA Region.
