DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 22-27, 1998 AS NATIONAL DANCE SPORT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, in its desire to promote and further develop dance sport in the country is hosting the Australia - Philippine competition and the National Dance Sport Congress and National Dance Sport Championship from November 22-27, 1998;

WHEREAS, the Philippines will be hosting world-class dancers and coaches from abroad;

WHEREAS, the timing of this event is triply significant, as Dance Sport has been fully recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the Asian Games in December, and the event will be held during the nations Centennial year and will focus the worlds attention on the Philippines.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 22-27, 1998 as “National Dance Sport Week”. To ensure the success of this worthy private sector undertaking, the Department of Tourism, Interior and Local Government, Transportation and Communications, Education and Culture, as well as the Philippine Sports Commission and other government agencies are tasked to support and actively participate in the preparation and implementation of said event.

IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 13th day of November, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Eight.
