DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE AREAS AFFECTED BY SUPERTYPHOON “ILIANG”

WHEREAS, the provinces of Pangasinan, Isabela, Cagayan, Kalinga, Apayao, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Benguet, Abra, Ifugao and Mountain Province have been badly hit by Supertyphoon “Iliang” which caused great damage and destruction to life, properties, infrastructures and agriculture;

WHEREAS, a state of public calamity exists in the aforesaid provinces and cities arising from the effects of said typhoon;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim that a state of public calamity exists in the provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Catanduanes, Isabela, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Cagayan, Kalinga Apayao, Albay, Aurora, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Quirino, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province and the cities of Baguio, Dagupan, Laoag, and Urdaneta.1aшphi1

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute rescue, relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
