DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 18 TO 24, 1998, AS PURCHASING AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Purchasing and Materials Management Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PMMAP), is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the countrys top corporations;

WHEREAS, this October, the PMMAP will celebrate its 30th Anniversary with the theme: “Value Driven Purchasing and Materials Management for the next Millennium”;

WHEREAS, in line with the goals of Philippine 2000, purchasing and materials managers and PMMAP must help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services, for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 18 to 24, 1998, as Purchasing and Materials Management Week.1aшphi1
