DECLARING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MARCH 21 AND 22, 1998, AS NON-WORKING SPECIAL DAYS IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF PARAÑAQUE, METRO MANILA AND MALAYBALAY, PROVINCE OF BUKIDNON

WHEREAS, Republic Act Nos. 8507 and 8490 mandate the conversion of the Municipalities of Parañaque, Metro Manila and Malaybalay, Province of Bukidnon, into a highly urbanized city and a component city, respectively;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections under Resolution Nos. 3010 and 3005 has scheduled the plebiscite date for the conversion of the aforesaid municipalities on Sunday, March 22, 1998;

WHEREAS, to enable the residents of the said municipalities to actively participate in the scheduled political exercise, there is a need to declare the plebiscite day and the day prior thereto as special days;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, 1998 as non-working special days in the Municipalities of Parañaque, Metro Manila and Malaybalay, Province of Bukidnon.
