[ Proclamation No. 980, March 19, 1997 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PUNLAAN SCHOOL OF SAN JUAN, METRO MANILA TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR

WHEREAS, the Punlaan School of San Juan, Metro Manila, has for a number of years helped many young women who cannot afford to go to school due to lack of financial means;

WHEREAS, the Punlaan School provides our indigent young women with free training in a Dual Training Food and Beverage Services Program wherein these young women are saved from being forced into dangerous and illegal working situations here and abroad and instead assured of employment in first class hotels and restaurants;

WHEREAS, the erstwhile sponsors of the Punlaan School has completed its contract of support leaving the school with scarce resources to continue its mission;

WHEREAS, the Punlaan School needs the support of all civic spirited citizens to enable it to respond to the needs of many more indigent young women who could otherwise be future productive members of the community.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Punlaan School of San Juan, Metro Manila to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one (1) year effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 19th day of March in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Seven.
