DECLARING FRIDAY, DECEMBER 26, 1997 AS A SPECIAL DAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

In consideration of the Filipino tradition of visiting relatives and spending time with ones family on Christmas Day, and to give all opportunity to our people to properly observe this day which falls on a Thursday, the following day may be declared as a special day without detriment to public interest. Accordingly, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, December 26, 1997 as a special day throughout the country.
