DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 3 TO 8, 1997, AS “NATIONAL PRINTING WEEK”

WHEREAS, the printing industry serves as the vehicle in promoting the countrys arts and culture;

WHEREAS, the printing industry, as one of the most effective tools in communication, contributes to the furtherance of the countrys goal towards national economic growth;

WHEREAS, the Printing Industry of the Philippines will hold its 8th National Printers Convention in November with the theme “Meeting the Challenges of the Next Millennium”;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus national attention on the vital role played by the printing industry in promoting our governments higher objectives;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 3 to 8, 1997, as “National Printing Week” under the auspices of the Printing Industries Association of the Philippines, Inc.1aшphi1
