DECLARING SEPTEMBER 1997 AS “KARATE MONTH” THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

WHEREAS, the Philippines shall host the 6th Karate World Cup on 07-15 September 1997;

WHEREAS, the 6th Karate World Cup is the biggest international karate event to be held in the country this year and in Asia for the first time; and,

WHEREAS, this international event is an excellent opportunity to highlight the global competitiveness of our country in the area of sports;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare September this year as “Karate Month” throughout the country.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
