DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 06 TO 12, 1997 AS NATIONAL BOWLING WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippines will be hosting the 9th FIQ Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships from July 6 to 12, 1997 at the Green Valley Club, Pasig City, Metro Manila;

WHEREAS, the 9th FIQ Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships will be participated in by one hundred twenty (120) youth bowlers from twenty (20) different Asian countries:

WHEREAS, the Philippines has produced renowned world bowling champions, the latest being Rafael (Paeng) Nepomuceno, who has established an unprecedented record by winning his fourth World Cup championship; and

WHEREAS, this event will once again focus the attention of the world to our country and people and will afford the Filipino youth bowlers the opportunity to demonstrate their excellent skills, discipline and sportsmanship in the sport of bowling.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from July 6 to 12, 1997 as National Bowling Week.1aшphi1
