DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 1997 AS “DR. JOSE P. RIZAL DAY” IN THE PROVINCE OF LAGUNA AND IN THE CITY OF SAN PABLO

WHEREAS, Thursday, June 19, 1997 marks the 136th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our national hero;

WHEREAS, in commemoration of the birth of our national hero, a traditional parade will be held to be participated in by the officials from the Province of Laguna and San Pablo City, various civic and religious groups, public and private schools and business/commercial establishments;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Laguna and the City of San Pablo be given fullest opportunity to commemorate the day with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, June 19, 1997 as “Dr. Jose P. Rizal Day” in the Province of Laguna and in the City of San Pablo.1aшphi1
