[ Proclamation No. 1009-A, June 11, 1997 ]

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 1009 DATED MAY 22, 1997 BY DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 1997, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF LAGUNA AND IN THE CITY OF SAN PABLO

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 1009 was issued on 22 May 1997 declaring Thursday, June 19, 1997 as “Dr. Jose P. Rizal Day” in the province of Laguna and the City of San Pablo;

WHEREAS, in commemoration thereof, a traditional parade will be held to be participated in by the officials from the Province of Laguna and San Pablo City, various civic and religious groups, public and private schools and business/commercial establishments;

WHEREAS, in previous years, the said date had been declared a special day in the Province of Laguna and the City of San Pablo to allow the people therein the fullest opportunity to commemorate the day with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Thursday, June 19, 1997 as a special day in the Province of Laguna and in the City of San Pablo.
