[ Proclamation No. 933, December 9, 1996 ]

AUTHORIZING THE TASK FORCE TO ADDRESS THE CONCERNS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR

WHEREAS, Proclamation 125 dated 15 January 1993 was issued for the Nationwide Observance in the Philippines of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons from 1993-2002 and heighten awareness and support for programs and projects benefitting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs);

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 385 dated December 1996 created the Task Force to Address the Concerns of Persons with Disabilities to oversee and fasttrack the implementation of comprehensive and integrated developmental programs for persons with disabilities;

WHEREAS, the government is committed to promote the physical well-being, self-sufficiency and empowerment of persons with disabilities through the implementation of programs and projects on livelihood, rehabilitation and sports, among others; and,

WHEREAS, in view thereof, it has become necessary to develop and tap new sources of operating funds, one expedient means of which is the possibility of holding a fund-raising campaign:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Task Force to Address the Concerns of Persons With Disabilities to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one (1) year, effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.1aшphi1
