DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 17 TO 23, 1997, AS “CONSTRUCTION WEEK”

WHEREAS, on March 20-23, 1997, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, the 2nd Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition - WORLDBEX 97 shall be held and be attended by construction trade professionals, architects, engineers, property owners, land developers and direct corporate users;

WHEREAS, the construction and infrastructure industry has to enhance and increase its productivity as demands for building and construction equipment are growing at an unprecedented pace;

WHEREAS, there is a need to integrate the construction industry as a vital component in national development in support of achieving the vision - PHILIPPINES 2000;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 17 to 23, 1997, as “Construction Week”.

I, call upon all construction trade professionals, building administrators, land developers, engineers, architects, designers, government and private institutions, and associations to give the observance of the week their full support.1aшphi1
