MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 901, October 10, 1996 ] DECLARING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND WITHIN THE COVERAGE OF PROCLAMATION NOS. 1636 AND 1637, DATED 18 APRIL 1977, SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF RODRIGUEZ, PROVINCE OF RIZAL, AS PAMITINAN PROTECTED LANDSCAPE Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, in order to protect and preserve its historical significance as well as its recreational, educational and ecotourism value, pursuant to the powers vested in me by law and by the provisions of Republic Act No. 7586, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby set aside, withdraw from sale, settlement and exploitation of whatever nature or forms of disposition, a parcel of land situated in the Municipality of Rodriguez, Province of Rizal, which includes the Pamitinan Cave, its surroundings and other cave ecosystems found therein, subject to existing recognized and valid private rights, if any there be. The tract of land involved herein is more particularly described as follows, to wit: “Beginning at a point marked by “1” the map with geographical coordinates 121 1045.75 longitude and 14 4318.67.” Thence Due North at 3,000 meters to point 2, Thence Due East at 2,000 meters to point 3 Thence Due South at 3,000 meters to point 4, Thence Due West at 2,000 meters to point 1 which is the point of beginning. Containing an area of SIX HUNDRED (600) HECTARES more or less. (Note These data are approximate and subject to final survey.) The said area shall be known as the “Pamitinan Protected Landscape” and shall fall under the Protected Landscape category of the National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) Act of 1992. The site shall be under the administration and control of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in coordination with the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB).1aшphi1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
