DECLARING THE FOURTH WEEK OF AUGUST AND EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER AS THE NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY BASED EDUCATION AND TRAINING WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine government is committed to enhance the prestige, welfare, and well being of the Filipino skilled workers in recognition of their significant role in the countrys socio-economic development;

WHEREAS, social and economic development depends to a large extent upon the optimum utilization of the countrys manpower resources;

WHEREAS, technology-based education and training (TBET) is a key factor to national prosperity;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention, on the TBET in general, and blue collar workers in particular;

NOW, THEREFORE, I FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the fourth week of August and every year thereafter, as the National Technology-Based Education and Training Week under the auspices of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
