[ Proclamation No. 846, August 12, 1996 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 1996, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN SAN JUAN, METRO MANILA

WHEREAS, the 100th anniversary of the “Battle of Pinaglabanan”, an important event in our struggle for freedom, falls on August 30, 1996;

WHEREAS, said historical event is of special significance to the residents of San Juan, Metro Manila, where it took place;

WHEREAS, the people of San Juan should be afforded an opportunity to celebrate the occasion with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, August 30, 1996, as a special day in San Juan, Metro Manila.
