[ Proclamation No. 800, June 3, 1996 ]

DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAGANGA, PROVINCE OF DAVAO ORIENTAL, WHICH WAS ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY CHOLERA EPIDEMIC

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Baganga, Province of Davao Oriental, was adversely affected by cholera epidemic;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for the declaration of a state of calamity in the area in order that the province may make use of its calamity fund for relief and other emergency work needed thereat.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that a state of calamity exists in the Municipality of Baganga, Province of Davao Oriental.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute prevention and environmental sanitation in accordance with existing operational plans, directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.
