DECLARING MONDAY, MAY 6, 1996, A SPECIAL DAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY ON THE OCCASION OF THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN ELECTIONS

WHEREAS, Monday, May 6, 1996, was set as the Sangguniang Kabataan General Elections; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to declare May 6, 1996, a special day to give our youth full opportunity to participate in the election;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, and pursuant to the provisions of Executive Order No. 203, dated June 30, 1987, do hereby declare Monday, May 6, 1996, as a special day throughout the country on the occasion of the Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.1aшphi1

The various local government units through their respective Chief Local Executives shall extend all possible assistance and support to ensure the smooth conduct of the general elections.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
