[ Proclamation No. 783, April 12, 1996 ]

DECLARING THE MONTH OF JANUARY OF EVERY YEAR AS POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS MONTH

WHEREAS, there is a need for greater appreciation of the importance of closer inter-action between the community and the police in handling peace and order problems;

WHEREAS, the discharge of police functions has direct and immediate impact on the quality of life and security of the citizens; and,

WHEREAS, it is advisable that a month be set aside every year to focus nationwide attention on the significance of law enforcement and the maintenance of peace and order.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of January of every year as Police Community Relations Month.1aшphi1

The National Police Commission shall be the lead agency in undertaking police-citizen activities nationwide during the said month.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
