DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN QUEZON CITY, WHICH WAS ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FIRE

WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends the declaration of a state of calamity in Quezon City in view of the fire that hit the Ozone Disco Pub on March 18, 1996, at 12 midnight;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of calamity in Quezon City, for emergency needs, service restoration, comprehensive fire safety inspection, and other remedial measures to be made therein.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans, directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.1aшphi1
