AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 573, DATED 26 JUNE 1969, WHICH ESTABLISHED THE PEÑARANDA RIVER FOREST RESERVE SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GEN. TINIO, PROVINCE OF NUEVA ECIJA, BY EXCLUDING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND EMBRACED THEREIN AND TRANSFERRING THE SAME IN THE OPERATION OF PROCLAMATION NO. 237, DATED DECEMBER 19, 1955, WHICH ESTABLISHED THE FORT MAGSAYSAY MILITARY RESERVATION SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF PAPAYA (NOW GEN. TINIO), STA. ROSA, AND LAUR, PROVINCE OF NUEVA ECIJA AND PORTION OF QUEZON PROVINCE, ISLAND OF LUZON, PHILIPPINES

Upon recommendation of the Secretaries of Environment and Natural Resources, Agriculture; and National Defense, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 573, dated 26 June 1969, which established the Peñaranda River Forest Reserve situated in the Municipality of General Tinio, Province of Nueva Ecija, by excluding a certain portion of land embraced therein and transferring the same to the operation under Proclamation No. 237, dated December 19, 1955, which established the Fort Magsaysay Reservation situated in the Municipalities of Papaya (now Gen. Tinio), Sta. Rosa, and Laur, Province of Nueva Ecija and Province of Quezon, which portion is more particularly described as follows:

A parcel of land starting from a point marked 1, identical to corner 6 of Peñaranda River Forest Reserve, thence:

N. 15º 18' 00" E., 4,110.68 m. to point 2

(identical to corner 7 of Peñaranda River Reserve);

N. 44º 43' 00" W., 2,807.25 m. to point 3

(identical to corner 8 of Peñaranda River Forest Reserve);

S. 57º 12' 20" E., 3,638.46 m. to point of

beginning containing an area of FIVE HUNDRED (500) hectares, more or less. All points are indicated on the attached sketch plan. All boundaries are subject to an actual survey by precise instruments and establishment of permanent corners on the ground.1aшphi1

The administrative jurisdiction of above described portion shall be transferred from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Department of National Defense for military use under the operation of Proclamation No. 237, dated December 19, 1955, which established the Military Reservation known as Fort Magsaysay.
