DECLARING 1996 AS DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR OF THE YOUNG WOMENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF MANILA

WHEREAS, the Young Womens Christian Associations of Manila, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit, voluntary, welfare and civic non-governmental association of women founded on October 26, 1926 has continuously and effectively carried out the Christian mission of social service;

WHEREAS, with its dedicated commitment to work with women, for women and with womens perspective, the YWCA of Manila recognizes its responsibility to improve and expand its services for the empowerment and girls in Manila;

WHEREAS, the YWCA of Manila is conscious of the need for a stronger public awareness about its seven decades of existence to provide quality programs and services that respond to community needs, work actively for the spiritual, mental and physical development of the youth, improve the status and empowerment of women and attain responsible social and economic changes to achieve peace, justice and progress in the country;

NOW, THEREFOR, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare 1996 as the Diamond Jubilee Year of the YWCA of Manila.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand cause the set my hand caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.1aшphi1
