[ Proclamation No. 696, November 21, 1995 ]

DECLARING THE YEAR 1996 AS “UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES (U.P.) COLLEGE OF LAW FACULTY TRUST FUND YEAR” AND AUTHORIZING THE U.P. LAW ALUMNI FOUNDATION, INC. (UPLAF) AND THE U.P. LAW ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, INC. (UPLAA) TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE FUND CAMPAIGN DURING SAID PERIOD

WHEREAS, the U.P. College of Law has served as the training ground of many distinguished members of the Philippine bench and bar and continues to provide relevant legal education to its scholars and students;

WHEREAS, this made possible by the efforts of the U.P. College of Law faculty who have nobly chosen, despite considerable sacrifice, to devote their lives to the legal education of our youth;

WHEREAS, the U.P. College of Law Faculty Trust Fund was established by the UPLAF for the purpose of augmenting the salaries of the full-time teachers and professors of the U.P. College of Law;

WHEREAS, the UPLAF and the UPLAA are jointly spearheading projects for the expansion of the U.P. College of Law Faculty Trust Fund;

WHEREAS, this laudable purpose, which directly impacts on the quality of legal education in the State University, deserves the support of both the public and private sectors of society;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the year 1996 as “University of the Philippines (U.P.) College of Law Faculty Trust Fund Year,” and authorize the UPLAF and UPLAA to undertake a nationwide fund campaign during said period.

All government agencies and offices are hereby directed to extend full cooperation to the UPLAF and UPLAA to ensure the success of this project.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
