[ Proclamation No. 668, October 4, 1995 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF BATARAZA, RIZAL, QUEZON AND ARACELI, ALL OF THE PROVINCE OF PALAWAN, AND THE CITY OF COTABATO, WHICH WERE ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FLASHFLOODS

WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense and Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) recommends the declaration of a state of public calamity in the following areas:

Bataraza, Rizal, Quezon and Araceli, all of the Province of Palawan, due to the adverse effects of flashfloods which occurred on September 8, 1995;

City of Cotabato, due to the adverse effects of flashfloods which affected the area during the first week of September 1995;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that a state of public calamity exists in the Municipalities of Bataraza, Rizal, Quezon and Araceli, all of the Province of Palawan, and the City of Cotabato, which were adversely affected by flashfloods.1aшphi1

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans, directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
