DECLARING OCTOBER 1995 AS “UN MONTH” AND OCTOBER 24, 1995 AS “UN GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY DAY”

WHEREAS, the United Nations will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary on October 24, 1995;

WHEREAS, the Philippines, as a founding member, has consistently supported the United Nations and participated fully in its activities;

WHEREAS, it is only fitting that the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations on October 24, 1995 be marked with appropriate rites and festivities to impress the significance of the day on the minds of our people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare October 1995 as “UN Month” and October 24, 1995 as “UN Golden Anniversary Day.”

All departments, agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned and controlled corporations, are hereby directed to lend full support and cooperation to the National Committee For The Philippine Observance of The Fiftieth anniversary of The United Nations, created under Administrative Order No. 56 dated 31 May 1995, in preparing the appropriate national programme for the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
